When fear stops you from even trying, you’ve already lost.

This is a quote from a recent podcast I released discussing the challenges that riders often face. Here is a link to the post where you can listen to the podcast.

After owning horses since age 9 and training my own, I had my first major horse accident at age 50 and it took me a year to get back to riding. Some of it was physical and most was psychological. I always relied heavily on my bond with my horses and I never bonded with the horse I got hurt on. My greatest fear is not being able to create a bond with the two horses I have now. It starts building and then my fear gets in the way and I have to start over.

One step I can take to face my fear is to pick a training philosophy and stick to it. I’m doing that now. 🙂
