What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?

I heard this on the radio (klove) a few weeks ago, and it was a wake up call to me too. I ask too much and forget to thank…

whoa…I would be a homeless person without even a scrap of food or clothing to my name, not to mention my wonderful horse…. I know I sound terrible, but I have to be honest. Yikes! Not my horse!!!

that’s why every night i thank God for EVERYTHING. my friends, family, pets, and even the people i don’t like.

I would wake up naked and homeless, standing next to my horse. Seriously, I thank God for Yankee most days, but do forget to thank Him for everything else in my life.

What a great post. I laughed so hard because I am afraid that before a friend posted on facebook the idea of putting what your grateful for each day during nov I would have been right there with you!!

That is a powerful question! Thanks Stacy, I’m going to try to remember that every day.

Wow, what a neat thought! It really shows me that i need to give thanks more often for the things God has blessed me with!

What I have is not much but it is all I need, The Lord has provided me with a wonderful view, a great support network, a warm place for the winter, my animal and my family. But most of all he has provided me with life. And today I am thankful just for that.

Janet —I have exactly the same comment!! We are soooo blessed!!
I wake up from sleeping on my mattress on the floor and thank Father for the same things you have said. My daughter and I have a nice, warm apartment, 2 cats, friends and food. And we know that Jesus loves us.

An awesome question. I will be thinking of that when i pray. Sadly i would probably have woken with only family and horses. Which is great but i would be homeless naked and hungry. Deffinately something to think about.

What a wonderful question! It will definitely influence my prayers today.

Sadly… many would wake up with nothing. There were days that would i be one of them !! But i do try and thank him each day for something.

I would be fulfilled . .. I would even have a little strife as I have learned to thank Him for that as well. I sit here thinking of anything I forgot to be grateful for…..I cannot think of anything yet as I pray a prayer that starts with ‘ today is the day the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it’. and from there I go on an on and on….:) Gratitude is one of my biggest prayers next to greeting this day with Love in my heart. I cannot stay irritated when I think about greeting the day with Love in my heart. Of course I may have to pray this more than once a day!!!
