Upon arriving in Norco, California I announced, “I want to do all the tourist things I can with a horse!”
Riding through the McDonalds drive through was just one of the things I had to do. We have already ridden to several tack stores, took a package to FedEx, and ridden by some unusual things…including a potbelly pig! I hear there is an ostrich just south of me….I wonder what Newt will think about that?
My only problem now is…so many drive throughs in Norco…and so little time! I’m going to have to eat and drink every hour just to fit all of my tourist adventures in. I wonder if I can get a latte? Pony Expresso?

When you said Pony Expresso, I had to laugh! We have a tack shop here in Tallahassee, FL that just opened up a coffee shop in their store. The tack shop is called the Pony Express and their coffee shop is called the Pony Espresso. 🙂 They have all kinds of horsey-themed cafe drinks and treats…you could definitely ride through their drive-thru!

Norco is Horsetown USA. They do almost everything on horseback.
The Emu on 5th and Valley View is my horses Kryptonite! I’ve seen quite a few horses end up in the middle of the street passing him! Welcome to Norco! 😉
We rode by him yesterday…and to our surprise our horses were fine. The overpass was a bit more exciting…Newt is going to do a blog about that experience, lol

You’ve done a great job with Newt. Really impressed the way he handled all the potentially spooky things like the drive through order sign etc. He even walked right up to the garbage can in the confined area at the end.

Love the fact that you have the rubber easy boot’s (not sure what brand they are you could post that info) on for riding on the pavement…….. “safety first” 🙂
I rode my horse at homecoming instead of riding in a car! Big sparkly dresses, marching banda and loud sports cars? Not a problem.

Love it ! We are in the country but have a McDonalds about 3-4 miles away near the community college . Country roads all the way to it but do have to use overpass to cross over interstate . It has seen its share of horseback drive ups :0)
sounds like fun! My friends and I have went through Wendy’s, Mc Donald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, I had the GM of Dunkin Donuts in Inverness Florida take a picture of a friend of mine and I on our horses getting coffees going through the drive thru! It was an awesome time! I’ve also ridden my girl in Petco! Man the things that can be done on horses.
When I was a kid I rode my horse through the Carl’s Jr. drive-thru. It was during Christmas time so the horse had bells on and bows and we handed out candy canes. It was so fun!! Back when Healdsburg was a small town.
I loved how Newt just looked at the garbage can calmly while you deposited the bag. Gr8.
There is also Burt the Camel in Norco – you need to meet him. Contact Liza Rogers of Rancho Santiago Obstacle course, she will hook you up. Everyone in town knows her – especially Fran at Thrifty Horse tack store & all the feed stores 🙂

On a separate note, Bangor, MI (not Maine) is the small town where I keep my horse, and although it doesn’t cater (pardon the pun) specifically to horses it doesn’t mind when a horse-drawn wagon shows up at the McDonald’s drive-thru, which the barn manager does quite regularly in the summer.
