Some days just require a little more motivation. For me that might be reading something inspirational, talking to someone that I find encouraging or encouraging someone else.
Yesterday was one of those days. This prompted me to search for quotes. Then I searched for pretty pictures (thanks Donnie). The result was this photo quote. It inspired me and I put it out into the world with the hope of encouraging others.
I seem to be going through some kind of transition period that I don’t fully understand myself. Maybe that is why this quote resonated with me. In a way, it seems I am moving closer and closer to ‘discovering why.”
As is typical for me, I seem to learn these lessons first with my horses and then later…sometimes much later…I figure out that the same theory applies in my day to day life. I am beginning to see that when these two things intersect; my understanding of horses and my understanding of life, I could experience that second great day. I believe I have touched my ‘why’ on and off…and off…and on…
If you want a good laugh, one of my more recent ‘discoveries’ is that I think, at my core, I am a writer.
With over 900 published blogs and a published book you would think this may have occurred to me a bit sooner. But. Nope.
It’s a good thing I’m committed to life long learning!

I think my “why” is related to horses. I just haven’t found exactly how yet. Might be colt starting, maybe be bettering relationships between owners and their horse, maybe finding and selling great pre-owned western tack. I tried the photo angle and that didn’t pan out as well as I’d hope, so I’m still investigating other options.
Sometimes things just come to a hult your doing the same thing over and over and you get in a rut. Then you have to figuer out what to do, But then something comes along or you just have to just step back and revaluate everything. I had to do this last yr when I got divorced. I made plans and followed through all of them. Now had a few more plans but change is happing around me with my daughter might move away. I want to stay here, keep my job and my new friends. I never had friends to do stuff with till now. Do I want a second job No. Will I if I have to yes just to stay here and keep my job and friends.
I can say that I have not discovered my why, it’s finding me…if that makes sense. I always pray that God will prepare me for his will to be done in my life. So when I was suddenly faced with homeschooling three boys, and training a dangerous horse, and running our farm,,, I asked… Why? Almost 8 years later, it’s starting to make sense… I learned so much about myself, kids, and horses. And yes, those lessons overlapped. I grew, I overcame fears I didn’t know I had, and I kept the faith that their is reason and purpose in this, I just had to be patient and see what was on the other side(easier said than done most days). Now I’m starting to experience it. And so another transition…what’s next? Even though I may not know my why, (although it would be nice too), it is happening. I am still learning, growing, and meeting amazing people along the way. I think our “why” is what others experience through us and vice versa, and changes with us.. Keep “riding with faith.”
I was just having coffee with a friend and talking about how looooooong we have to wait sometimes before we can see ‘why’ in some cases. My current search for why involves the unique combination of talents that each of us has. Some may seem similar but all are unique. Finding that is helpful for feeling a sense of fulfillment & purpose:)
Hi Stacy–I have been following you for a long time!!!–Since 2007. I am sure you know this already but you are a great inspiration to me and a motivator. I appreciate the time you spend sending out informative emails and I especially appreciate the ones where you get me to think about things more. I have met several clinicians/trainers and honestly no one compares to you. You are sincere, honest, and seem to always look at things in a positive way. I am not sure what my “why” is in life yet–still trying to figure it out however I am enjoying everyday and continue to want to learn new things. Thanks for always inspiring me and motivating me whether it be in my personal life or my life with my horse. Stacy–I bet you never thought when you were younger(high school years) that you would have positively impacted so many people.

I was painfully shy and I am still, at my core, an introvert. I never would have guessed that a passion for riding would lead to this:)
It’s so interesting how life and times unfold in front of you. Doors open and others close that direct you down paths you might not have dreamed of finding.
It’s good to remind yourself that there will be many questions and answers along the way.
Enjoy the journey. Keep learning, growing and giving.
It’s that last one that is key. Amazing what happens then!
