Dear Diary,
As you know we have been moving a lot. We have been in our current location in Flag-staff for three days. It is nice here. I have a stall with shavings and I can still go outside and play games with Hope.
The stuff up here isn’t as poke-y to taste test as it was at the last place. I did find something unusual today. I think he might have been a distant couzin but he was pretty shy. I tried to chase him down so I could ask him a few questions but Mom wouldn’t let me. She doesn’t understand.
Maybe he will come visit me tonight. An owl visited last night. I will stay up all night and see.

I like the Newt stories. I noticed his ears. He was very interested in that Elk.
This is one thing I really love about riding my paint or quarter horse on trail rides, the horse is moving at a pace that doesn’t startle deer and elk and you can get so much closer to them than on foot. My friends that ride TWH and Foxtrotters laugh at my sister and I for our “slowpoke” horses. But when we are back at camp and talking about the ride, they have missed the wildlife because they were whizzing by covering all those mile so fast they missed what was right in front of them!
I have no idea what my horse would do if he met up with an elk. He doesn’t care about most animals, but then again, he hates goats, so who knows? That’s so cool you saw an elk on your ride! I didn’t know AZ had elk… learn something new everyday. 🙂 My sister chased a herd of twenty or more elk down on her fourteen point one hand high quarter horse. Those elk were terrified. No wonder they haven’t been back to the prairie for a while. 🙂

Hores like to see new things on the trail alos my horses saw Deer on the trail they also stop and check it out but most they just walk past it we come a cross some cow pastures with cow in them on the trail they trun around and go the other way or they go reel slow past the cow but when the cows start to follow you better hang on to Daiblo my Black and white he wil take off on you Sign Brian moser Wangler for Best of American by horseback
